UPS announces "Dimensional Weight Replaces Oversize in 2007."

Starting January 1, 2007 UPS will determine the billable weight for packages based on new calculations using dimensional weight instead of oversize. Below is a link to UPS's website explaining how they will use dimensional weight in figuring billable weight. As of this time we do not have all of the details, but we understand that they will still be imposing some additional handling charges for some of the larger size packages.

FEDEX will also use the new dimensional weight instead of oversize classifications..

We are set up with both UPS and FDX and will ship whichever way is the cheapest depending on the package size and weight unless you specify a specific carrier.

Our website contains all of the package dimensions, actual weight, cubic feet, dim weight, and shipping weights.

Please notify anybody within your company that this change will effect.
